Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

The GPU was built for a different problem.
Everything on your screen is made of tiny dots called pixels.
To draw a picture, the computer has to decide what color millions of pixels should be — many tiny decisions, all at once.

So the GPU took a different approach. Not one powerful processor, but thousands of simpler ones, all running at the same time.
