Try to build a phone from scratch. Not order the parts. Actually make it, starting with nothing.

You can't. Nobody can.

A phone needs glass, and batteries, and radio, and chips. And every one of those had to be invented first, often a hundred years before, by someone solving a completely different problem.

You can only build something complex when the smaller pieces already exist.
