The signal itself has a strength
On the previous slide, every input was fully on. Its value was 1.
But signals don't have to be all-or-nothing. A neuron can send a weaker signal — 0.2, or 0.6, or anything between 0 and 1.
That changes the formula. Each connection contributes: signal × weight. Drag the neurons or weight labels to see the calculation update live.
