Here's an analogy to hammer home the point

You're trying to reach a small town on the other side of a river.

One route crosses the river twice: two bridges, one after the other. Both have to be passable to get through. One washed-out bridge and you turn back. That's AND.

Another route splits into two roads, each with its own bridge. Take either one. As long as one is standing, you reach the town. You only turn back if both are gone. That's OR.

Same destination. Same bridges. A different arrangement.
