The Oracle in the village
After so many journeys up the mountain, Elara imagined a different arrangement.
What if the Oracle lived in a hut beside the Scribe?
The copied scroll would no longer need a Courier. Elara's question, the Scribe, the Translator, and the Oracle could all remain inside the village.
A local model works like that. It runs on a computer you control.
Instead of sending the request to a company's servers, software on your machine loads the model and produces the answer there.
Local describes where the calculations happen. The Oracle has not changed into the whole system. She has changed address.
