MCP is shared plumbing between an AI application and programs that can provide information or perform work.

The host manages the experience. A client maintains each connection. A server exposes capabilities. Local and remote transports carry the same protocol along different routes.

The model remains a model. The tools remain ordinary programs.

MCP gives the programs a way to meet.
