One honest qualification before moving on. This was a friendly test. That bottle was made of familiar parts, and a rule really was there to be found. Real wine is not so obliging: a price can depend on the year, the maker, the label, and what someone is willing to pay, none of which follows a tidy rule. And an easy test proves little. The model got this bottle right, and that on its own does not tell us which other wines it can handle.

Which is the question worth asking next. Not every stranger is a stranger in the same way.
