The same inputs, shown on a map

One mushroom gives the neuron two input numbers. A whole training set gives it many pairs of numbers.

A map lets us see all those pairs at once. The map is for us. It is not another part of the neuron.

Each mushroom becomes one mark. Its left-to-right position records the colour input. Its bottom-to-top position records the size input.

A circle means the mushroom's correct label is safe. A cross means its correct label is dangerous.

The neuron sees two numbers. The map shows the same two numbers as a position.
